Art Portfolio for Colleges Course is designed for those applying to art & design major or supplementary art portfolio for college admission to effectively showcase your artistic skills, and creativity in your art portfolio.

Regular Option

  • This course is ideal for anyone preparing a portfolio for undergraduate admissions at a standard pace. Students will receive personalized instruction tailored to their interests and the admission criteria of their target schools
  • Year-round rolling registration
  • Course duration: 6 weeks
  • Each course includes 1 weekly class for 6 weeks.
  • Duration per class 4 hours.
  • *Class frequency is flexible based on your preference
  • One-time Non-refundable Registration Fee: $35
  • **A discount is available for registering for multiple courses at once.
  • The same focused and personalized learning experience is possible VIRTUALLY without physically attending class
  • Instructor’s continuous communication via email outside of class

OUR ONLINE COURSE IS GREAT FOR…

  • Anyone who lives outside of NYC or abroad but wishes to prepare a well-rounded portfolio
  • Anyone who has always wanted to study art/design but is too busy to squeeze in the time
  • Anyone who feels their portfolio is weak and needs improvement through constructive feedback
  • Anyone who wants to take classes at NYART but is concerned about living costs in NYC

Intensive Option

  • This program is designed for students who need a high-quality portfolio for admissions in a short timeframe and at an accelerated pace.
  • It’s a time-efficient solution for safe and targeted admission.
  • No prior art experience is required, and all skill levels are welcome!
  • Course duration: 4 weeks
  • Each class duration: 4 hours
  • Up to 10 classes per week
  • Not Available during the Summer (Jun-Aug). Please check our seasonal  Summer Intensive Program 
  • 4 weeks long
  • Up to 10 classes per week; Up to 40 classes in total
  • One-on-one private instruction with full attention from the instructor throughout the whole class duration
  • The most effective and the most time-efficient
  • Private Lessons students have achieved the highest acceptance rate & merit scholarship awards
  • Customized class duration and schedule

PRIVATE LESSONS ARE GREAT FOR…

  • Some special activities include the following:
    info sessions & portfolio review by major art school representatives, 1:1 portfolio evaluation by our admission counselor, museum/gallery visits in NYC, visits to renowned art schools/their campuses in NY, art and design college application workshop, college essay workshop, and more!
  • Individualized application preparation guide.
  • 4 hours per session * 2 times a day (=8 hours of class time)
  • Choose up to 10 classes per week
  • Courses run from Mondays to Saturdays.

OUR SUMMER PROGRAM IS GREAT FOR…

  • HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS who plan on applying to art college/schools
  • MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS who plan on applying to specialized art high schools, such as LaGuardia
  • Anyone who lives outside of NYC or abroad and wants to spend the summer in NYC to work on an art portfolio
  • Anyone who wants to spend the summer productively and creatively, making art!
  • Anyone who wants to prepare a well-rounded portfolio and minimize the living cost in NY

THE PLAN INCLUDES…

  • Application process assistance, including Slideroom
  • Sequencing & selection of artworks for best portfolio presentation
  • Professional portfolio photo shoot, including digital formatting of the portfolio (up to 20 artworks)
  • Essay/SOP revision (500-750 words)
  • NYART Transcript issued, where applicable
  • Recommendation letters (please ask our faculty directly)
  • Preparation for school interviews, where applicable
  • WES Application Assistance (International student ONLY)

A Certificate of Portfolio Preparation Completion will be issued to students who complete either 960 hours within 50 weeks (1 year) or 2,700 hours within 135 weeks (3 years)
