International School of Art and Design: New York Art Studio is a portfolio preparation school located in Midtown Manhattan. Since 2002, we have provided quality art education to students of all ages with a focus on portfolio development for individual needs.

Art Portfolio Preparation Instructor

ALONG WITH YOUR RESUME, PLEASE INCLUDE:

  • Link(s) to your website or current & past work examples
  • Work samples that show strong foundation drawing/painting skills
  • Suggested: at least 5 samples of foundational works (figure drawing/painting, still life, etc).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Teach an art portfolio preparatory/development class for college or graduate school admission.
  • Provide thorough guidelines for each individual student‘s project to bring strong outcomes.
  • Log and update student progress notes in a prompt manner after each class
  • Work on each student’s project with a substantial level of completion on a specific timeline
  • Prepare for upcoming projects based on the individual curriculum trajectory

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s in Fine Arts degree preferred
  • Ability to teach up to 10 students in a classroom in a one-on-one format
  • Strong draftsmanship required (strong drawing/painting foundation skills)
  • Design Related Computer Software (such as Adobe Suite) proficiency
  • Graphic Design skills preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong commitment to teaching
  • Availability for a set schedule in the long run

Communications & Administrative Coordinator

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Under the general direction of the supervisor, the position is expected to fulfill duties related to general communications and administration of the school in accordance with the school operations and programming.

A qualified candidate would be communicating via email, phone, and in-person with students, parents, and prospective students. This position also entails assisting with producing various social media and blog feeds to expand the school’s digital footprint, awareness, subscribers, and leads.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeps informed of the school programs, enrollment/admission policies and procedures for the recruitment of students.
  • Serves as a resource to interested students, families, and academies via phone, email, or in person, with the ability to write cordial and professional emails.
  • Assists in maintaining and updating customer and admission records and files as directed.
  • Develops informational and/or promotional materials with newsletters and social posts.
  • Monitors classrooms to ensure cleanliness and tidiness

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BFA/BS or relevant degree
  • Experience in designing and creating engaging social content
  • Experience in student affairs or prior admissions preferred
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Strong written and verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
  • A dual-minded approach: creativity with good writing skills, process-driven while thinking scale/data to make decisions.
  • Familiarity with the Mac and computer operating systems and proficiency with Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop.
  • Experience in CRM, marketing, and implementation, such as SEO, Analytics, and Mailchimp is a big plus.
