→ What is the program about?
Summer is a crucial time for college portfolio preparation. It is a time to deepen your creative knowledge and hone your skills so that you can build a polished and well-rounded art portfolio. With a rigorous project plan, the Summer Art Portfolio Intensive course offers a chance to immerse oneself in creative portfolio development that will enrich your art school application as well as your creative thought process.

Everyone has their own unique situations, backgrounds, experiences, and major/school interests. Our summer precollege portfolio program takes all of these into consideration for the best portfolio development plan for each student. For instance, you will benefit from targeted instruction that pinpoints exactly what needs to be done to develop a portfolio that will shine through in the admission pool. With this personalized approach, nearly all our students in the Summer Art Portfolio Intensive course get accepted to the top-tier art and design schools in the nation.

→ Who is it for?
NYART’s 2024 Summer Art Portfolio Intensive course is open to anyone who plans to build a well-rounded art portfolio that stands out. It is great for high school students preparing a portfolio for college or university admission, middle school or junior high school students preparing for specialized art high school admission, and adults in need of an in-depth art/design portfolio for career development.
Nonetheless, the applicant needs no prior art experience or skills in order to register! Our course offers personalized instruction to all students in the course based on their skill set, experience, and intended school/major.
→ What does the Summer Art Portfolio Intensive class look like?
Each class is 4 hours. We keep our class small, with 6-8 students per classroom, which allows for more focused instruction from the instructor and more attentive project development. During each session, the instructor will make rounds to work with each student, one-to-one, on their personalized project based on their intended school and major. ONLINE & ONSITE options are both available.
The overall course duration can be up to 12 weeks, depending on your needs. However, the duration may be customized upon request by contacting us at info@nyartstudio.com.
Students will choose up to 10 classes per week, including the following options for reference. Please keep in mind that all our courses are individualized so that the student can focus on a specific area(s) based on their intended major/ school.

* Home Test
Some art/design schools require a home test as part of their portfolio requirements for admissions. Wherever applicable, our course helps students develop a response work based on their intended school’s home test prompt. Most importantly, the goal will be to build a creative piece with thorough and customized guidelines so that each student develops a unique piece that shows their interest, vision, and strengths.

We accept students on a rolling basis; however, registration is strongly recommended to be completed at least 4 weeks before a desired start date. Please contact us at info@nyartstudio.com for specific availability.
We highly encourage students to register as early as possible to secure their spots in our class, as the summer course is in the highest demand among our programs.
In addition, please be mindful before registering that the course is active from the beginning of June 2024 to the end of August 2024. You are welcome to choose your own duration and schedule within the course timeframe.
