- Self-Portrait – Drawn from observation using pencil and paper (looking in a mirror).
- Still Life of at Least 3 Objects – Drawn from observation using pencil and paper (objects arranged in front of you).
- Figure Drawing – Draw a person (friend or family member) in a natural pose. Must show full figure with realistic proportions.
Additional Works (Pieces 4–7)
- Students may include up to 4 more pieces. These can be created using any medium (drawing, painting, digital art, sculpture, photography, etc.).
Creative Assignment (Optional)
- Schools like Art and Design HS, LaGuardia, and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts may require a creative prompt.
- For 2025, one example is: Draw a “Fantastical Sandwich” using your imagination. Show unusual details, creative toppings, and a unique setting.
Additional Material: Student Introduction
In addition to the portfolio, applicants must submit a short video introduction (up to 3 minutes) OR a written explanation (up to 500 words). Students should discuss:
